The 40th Annual Performance Mix lineup is now live!
This June, we are celebrating 40 years of Performance Mix Festival. Our highly anticipated Performance Mix 40 will bring together over 35 artists at the Underground Theater at Abrons Arts Center.
Both Festival alumni and emerging artists were invited to perform at this year’s Mix. Join us to experience some of the most compelling contemporary voices in experimental performance!
Performance Mix is a vital platform for artists who challenge convention and embrace artistic risk-taking. Described by The New York Times as “the most elaborate festival of the unpredictable,” this four-day festival brings together more than 35 artists with deeply personal and expansive approaches to performance, inviting audiences to engage with some of the most compelling voices in experimental dance today.
“It was a pleasure and an honor to be part of Performance Mix Festivals #31 (Infinite Corridor) and #36 (Meeting the Moai: Head Over Heels.) In both instances, the artists were made to feel welcomed and truly celebrated for their work, as reflected by attention to publicity, technical needs, and convivial gatherings. This festival truly practices diversity, equity, and inclusion, as manifested in their roster of performing artists each year. Big thanks to New Dance Alliance, Karen Bernard, and the entire Performance Mix Festival team who make it such a fulfilling and joyful experience for artists and audiences alike.”
