Green (2017)

Green (2017) Excerpt

At Cill Rialaig, I searched for a place to work and instinctively settled on a stone passageway between two rooms. In this excerpt, the ideas and issues that bubbled up in this residency are visible. I wear a black hooded sweatshirt, my face partly concealed, while my movement vacillates between the casual to the ritualistic. My feet scraping against the floor amplified create a soundtrack that heightens my solitude and confinement. Almost hiding from the vulnerability of this intimate performance, Green confronts the aching realities of living in a body that is devalued because of gender, because of age. A power-point provides juxtaposition between magnified photography images of buildings materials, landscape and exposed flesh.
