Femmes project began in 2008 as a platform for on-going feedback workshops, performances, and sharing of technical and career support.  The founders of Femmes are Cynthia Berkshire, Karen Bernard and Jil Guyon.

Funding has been received through the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Digital Performance Institute the Experimental Television Center with support from the New York State Council on the Arts, residencies through The Field’ Artward Bound Residency and New Dance Alliance at Earthdance, Silo, and White Oak with funding from the Howard Gilman Foundation; Wassard Elea; and the Liguria Study Center through the Bogliasco Foundation.
