Knees Up, a duet by Ashley Yehoda and Lillian Joergensen, seeks to explore modes of masculine gender presentation. They draw heavily on the idea of vaudeville male revues and slapstick skits and question what it means to be a man on stage.

She holds a BFA in dance from Rutgers University, where she worked with choreographers Paulette Sears, Doug Elkins, Keith Thompson, Chien-Ying Wang, and Netta Yerushalmy, as well as choreographing her own work. She is a practitioner of capoeira and a certified Pilates instructor.

Ashley Yehoda is a dance artist from Pennsylvania. They hold a B.F.A. from Rutgers University. In addition to creating their own work, Ashley is a current member of Monteleone Dance, OfBonesIIHollye Bynum, and has trained with Abby Zbikowski and the New Utility, and FACT SF.

Joergensen and Yehoda’s collaborative work has been performed at Triskelion Arts Center, Center for Performance Research, and The Craft Performance Series at Three’s Brewing.
