Eliza Ladd is a performer, composer, writer, director, and theater teacher from NYC. She holds an MFA in Theater: Contemporary Performance from Naropa University and a BA in Comparative Religion from Harvard University. Eliza has performed original work in NYC at PS122, Dixon Place, Dia Downtown, Movement Research, Joyce Soho, the Kitchen, and at the Knitting Factory.
Most recently Eliza performed a version of on est déshabillé in the United Solo Theater Festival, in Karen O’s Stop the Virgens at St. Ann’s Warehouse, and in Big Exit, an ongoing collaboration with Sara Zimmerman. Following a great run at the Berkshire Fringe Festival, Eliza’s musical play, Elephants and Gold, is in further development for a NYC premiere. Eliza is thankful for a Puffin Foundation grant in support of her Live Sound Action theater training, and to have participated twice in the E|Merge Residency at Earthdance, as well as the Field’s EAR residency.
Upcoming shows include Big Exit at Dixon Place on March 26 and on est déshabillé, a comedy about death at the Joyce Soho on March 15 as a part of the Performance Mix Festival. on est déshabillé, a comedy about death has been developed in a EAR Field Residency (performed at Joyce Soho) and in the United Solo Theatre Festival (performed at Theatre Row). On March 15 Eliza will be performing a newly developed excerpt of the full length show to be performed in its entirety in May/June 2012 location to be announced soon.
