Anna Azrieli is a Soviet-born, NYC-bred performer and choreographer. She holds a BFA in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has been active in the dance and contemporary performance world for fifteen years. She is an original member of ‘Miguel Gutierrez and the Powerful People’, working with the group 2001-2011. As a performer she has worked with Wendy Perron, Fred Darsow, Freefall, Donna Uchizono, Sam Kim, luciana achugar, Maya Ciarrocchi, Clarinda Mac Low, and David Thomson, among others. Her choreographic work has been presented by Dixon Place, Danspace Project, University of Texas-Pan American, Catch, Open Source Gallery, AUNTS, Ulla’s Salon, Movement Research at the Judson Church, Roulette, Movement Research Festival, and Chez Bushwick. She has also made work collaboratively with Abby Crain and Samuael Topiary; Pascale Wettstein; and Marya Wethers. She was a Movement Research Artist-in-Residence 2010-2012. She is participating in The Kitchen’s Dance and Process series this Spring 2013.
