Underneath takes the performer to and through the river Styx in a suspended state of coming of age. In witnessing her movements, the audience is invited to join the journey.
Diana Crum lives in Brooklyn. She received her MFA from Hollins University and BA from Columbia University. Her choreography has been presented in New York, by the 92nd St Y, AUNTS, Chashama, CPR-Center for Performance Research, Dixon Place, DNA (Dance New Amsterdam), Movement Research at the Judson Church and Roulette in Concord, MA; Atlanta, GA; Durham, NC; Salt Lake City, UT; Vienna, Austria; and Nancy, France, among others. She has received an iLab Residence from iLand Inc, an MCAF grant from LMCC, and a Choreographer’s Project Fellowship from Summer Stages at Concord Academy. She enjoys teaching. Recent positions include Guest Artist/Adjunct Faculty at Washington & Lee University, University of the Arts and Hollins University. She has taught master classes at a number of other organizations, including DNA (Dance New Amsterdam) and American Dance Festival. She currently works as Development Manager at Movement Research, where her responsibilities include overseeing “Dance Makers in the Schools”, an arts-in-education program.
