IMG5078byMarkHursty Miriam Wolf, originally from Takoma Park, MD., first presented choreography at the age of fourteen in St. Petersburg and Moscow as a member of an exchange between classically trained Russian dancers and contemporary American choreographers. In 2003, she graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in dance from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. After graduation she moved to Brooklyn, NY and continued to attempt to make change through her creative life. Her work has been presented at The Cunningham Studio Theater, Triskelion Arts, St. Mark’s Church, La MaMa, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Judson Church, and Joyce SoHo. In May of 2008, Wolf was awarded a residency at White Oak Center by New Dance Alliance. In May of 2009, she co-developed a multi-media installation piece with sculptor/designer Mark Hursty and composer Steven Wheller that is set to premiere in December, 2009 in Jacksonville, FL. As a performer, Wolf has worked with Daniel Linehan, Sam Kim, Michael Helland, Ivy Baldwin, Juliette Mapp, Natalie Green, and Stacy Grossfield.
