Javier Padilla

Javier Padilla is a movement based artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Starting their studies at School for the Performing Arts in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico under Waldo Gonzalez and Olaya Muentes, Padilla continued to research movement at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, pursuing a BFA in Dance. They have shown work at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Jacob’s Pillow, Triskelion Arts, Dixon Place and Judson Memorial Church. They are interested in exploring cultural, emotional and physical narratives and exhibiting their innate truths and their hidden treasures. Padilla is the Artistic Director of The Movement Playground and is currently a CUNY Dance Initiative Awardee at Hostos College.
