SHA Creative Outlet is a company that is rooted in dance and showcases in many mediums including film, photography, design, animation, and live performances. With dance styles such as contemporary, breaking, Wing Tsun Martial Arts at its core, SHA Creative Outlet is dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and connection. Formed in November 2021 in Brooklyn, the company has performed in Triskelion Arts Theater, Abrons Arts Center, Prospect Park, Judson Church, Firehouse Theater (VA), and the Rady Shell (CA). Founded by Shannon Yu 余香儒 (sha/shas), 2023 Asian American Arts Alliance’s Jadin Wong Fellow for Dance. Sha holds an MFA in Performance and Performance Studies from Pratt Institute, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University. Sha identifies as a multidisciplinary artist, dancer-choreographer, queer creator. Shannon practices breaking, hip hop, contemporary floorwork, and Wing Tsun Martial Arts. Sha has shown work at La MaMa, Movement Research at Judson Church, Dixon Place, Triskelion Arts, Abrons Art Center, The Landmark Loew’s Theater, and has been awarded residencies with Dance in Bushwick, Spoke the Hub, Chen Dance Center, The Creators Collective, New Dance Alliance, and The Center at West Park. Shannon was a recipient of City Artist Corp Grant, and has been in festivals such as Performance Mix Festival, the Evolution Festival, YES! Dance Festival, Your Moves Dance Festival, and WOW Festival. 

Shapeshifter is a solo dance exploration of consciousness through textures of movement and sound. A mixed streamlining of Asian roots and hip-hop culture.
