Valerie Striar

Valerie Striar creates solo and group dance/theater and film works which have been presented in the United States, Canada, Germany and Italy.  In New York, her work has been seen at La Mama, E.T.C., the Wax Performing Space, Judson Church, Danspace Project at St. Marks Church, the Kitchen, the Dia Center, Joyce SoHo, HERE, and Anthology Film Archives.  She is apart of the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow. More recently she danced in the film Romance and Cigarettes directed by John Turturro.  Her newest and sweetest work to date is a puppet performance of Jenny and the Cat Club which she created with her daughter, Aria.  This was presented at the Community Book store in Park Slope, Brooklyn in June 2011. Striar is happy to be working once again with Karen Bernard in Performance Mix.
