A Diary: Week 1

Hello from Bogliasco.

This week was a time to settle in.  The beauty and restfulness of this place is distracting.  Sleeping, eating, walking, meeting the other fellows, watching Sarah Michelson’s “Daylight” and “Pina”, and setting up my villa to work.  Yes, my own villa with three bathrooms.  This is a highlight for me since my husband and I raised three children with one bathroom.

This time around I did not get the dance studio and opted to work in my living room.  I moved out all the furniture and art and set up my technology toys.  Technology toys can be pretty frustrating.  I am going to have to make concessions.  My living room has a wall to floor ceiling window that gives me the view of the sea with a panel that can open.  I do love to dance in front of the window.  The window creates amazing light and dark shadows, which I photographed.  I’d like to recreate this window via projection with the projection hitting the wall and floor.
