We greeted the day with a lovely Breakfast Mix – thank you to all the artists who attended and brought along their curiosities (and appetites!) âŠ
Then we moved through a workshop with Lara Kramer, focusing on improvisational forms and presence of mind and body. Thank you to the artists who shared in the process so generously!
Works by these awesome artists hit the stage on Friday night:

New Dance Alliance has lost NEA funding. We persevere, more committed to our mission than ever before.
New Dance Allianceâs mission, from the earliest days, has been to support experimental movement-based artists. We have an explicit commitment to equity and inclusion, and our programs center the work of artists from historically marginalized communitiesâacross racial identities and the gender spectrum. We provide space, residencies, performance, and networking opportunities that help artists cultivate relationships, develop their artistry, and open doors to share their work in the US and internationally.
The NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) announced earlier this year its cancellation of funds to hundreds of arts organizations throughout the country, including New Dance Alliance.
This is a blow to the cultural institutions enriching our lives everyday, who rely on any and all funding available to keep operations running.
Help us keep the momentum going. We are preparing for PM40 – our 40 year anniversary!
“This current global situation is immensely sad and challenging, including the necessary cancellations/ postponements/ restructuring of opportunities, but we are so grateful for how you and the Performance Mix #34: Remotely Yours team has honored all of the artists involved – artistically, financially, and emotionally. In these uncertain, confusing times, we feel taken care of & clearly communicated with. Thank you.”
