About LiftOff
Liftoff is an NDA program offering residencies and workshops in which performing artists develop the creative and business aspects of their work.
Residencies:
Summer residency in August provides the artist with 20 hours of rehearsal space and feedback group sessions led by NDA director Karen Bernard. Additionally, the artist receives a two-hour career consulting session. There is no fee for the residency. To be eligible, applicants must have created and publicly presented three works of a minimum length of 10 minutes each. Application deadline for 2012 has passed.
Workshops:
Fall/Winter and Spring workshops strive to create a safe place to receive feedback that supports the aesthetics of seasoned artists. The group meets weekly for a three-hour session for 10 weeks with facilitation alternating between NDA director Karen Bernard and a guest artist(s). Space is limited. Two hours of rehearsal space a week are provided at a discounted rate.
E|MERGE Interdisciplinary Collaborative Residency
At Earthdance
Open Call Deadline: Sept 18, 2013

About E|MERGE
The E|MERGE two-week intensive curates performative and visual artists, activists, and scholars in their experimentation with skill and resource sharing, bridging of known and unknown territories, and creation of new forms from the fields of movement, theater, visual art, music, installation, design and more. The interchange of ideas, artistic innovation, and the creation of new collaborative models and networks are all emphasized through the work. The residency culminates in a weekend of performances, panel discussions, writing, research and other modes of expression.
This residency is ideal for those interested in collaborating and cross-pollinating ideas with artists from other disciplines and backgrounds. E|MERGE is a unique residency that has grown organically into a national and international network of highly skilled artists who continue to support and develop one another’s work, beyond the residency itself.
