Our mission, from its earliest days, has been to nurture experimental movement-based artists, and bring their works to life. NDA has an explicit commitment to equity and inclusion of historically marginalized Black, Brown, and queer innovators. We provide space, residencies, and performance opportunities to help artists cultivate relationships, develop their work, and share their inventions with the world.
New Dance Alliance fosters diversified local, national and international artists and audiences through annual events, retreats, educational panels, and performances. Our main programs are Performance Mix Festival; NDA Studio Program: Black Artists Space to Create, LiftOff Residency, Satellite, Work Session; and Karen Bernard Projects.
This season we have increased support and the number of artists in our LiftOff Residency providing 36 hours of free space to 8 artists, Work Sessions and a $500 stipend. LiftOff artists are invited to present work in the Performance Mix Festival.
