“I’m really glad that Performance Mix #34: Remotely Yours turned out to be so productive for me. I was able to wrap my head around the ideas that were all circling in my head.”

Join us for Portuguese Caldo Verde with Fernando and Tina Maneca, a donation-based event to support the Black Artists Space to Create Residency program of New Dance Alliance! We will gather together to cook, eat and chat.
“CALDO VERDE brings back memories of growing up in Portugal and in Luso-American communities in the US. The recipe we’re sharing comes from Beira Alta and growing up we thought this was THE way to make it. It wasn’t until we moved here that we learned of several varieties from other parts of Portugal. Some recipes call for the kale to be roughly chopped, while others include beans or other vegetables. And here in the US, it is not uncommon to substitute Spanish chorizo instead of Portuguese Chouriço, as it is easier to find.”
