About the Work FĂȘte is a party of one. With a piquant edge, the question of what to wear and the exceptionally mundane task of getting dressed is the main event.
About the WorkáșžfĂșnyáșčmĂâs Journey intersects the mortal body with the ĂrĂŹáčŁĂ (Yoruba deity) of the human experience and creativity – á»bĂ tĂĄlĂĄ. By ascertaining one’s spirit and alignment with á»bĂ tĂĄlĂĄ, one goes on a magical late-night/early-morning club journey. The wooden floors unite humanity & creativity with ancestral magic and electronic beats.

New Dance Alliance, along with hundreds of fellow arts organizations in the United States, recently lost any and all funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The budget cuts to NEA will slash access to the arts keeping our communities thriving. We share in grief with all our colleagues in the arts, but we also pledge to be resilient. NDA remains steadfast in our commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in the arts, and support for BIPOC performance artists in NYC.
We urge the community to come together in these troubling times to celebrate the values we hold dear. Support the artists in your community today â and always.

“My creative history with New Dance Alliance goes a way long. Since my friend, Chivas Sandage brought me to New Dance Alliance to rehearse in early 90âs, the place has become a part of my creative life. The long time existence of the studio and Performance Mix Festival are vital to the artists who seek and explore deep into their process. Whenever I step into the studio, itâs a new space with a lot of memories. I lie down on the floor, listen to my body, and I dance. It is valuable. The time in the space nurtures my practice and artistic vision. Karenâs vision of Lift-Off residency, feedback sessions, providing peer to peer connections are more significant than ever. It has been helping us to get through 2020 and we are going into 2021.”
