binbinFactory / Satoshi Haga & Rie Fukuzawa

Satoshi Haga & Rie Fukuzawa have been collaborating as binbinFactory since 2010. Many venues have presented them, including 92NY, DanceNow, Performance Mix Festival, Le Festival de Bargemon in France, and Le Festival d’Art Contemporain a Roquebrune Sur Argens. They are recipients of residency programs and grants, including LMCC’s Swing Space Residency, Eva Dean Dance with Mertz Gilmore Creative Grant, SEANSE Art Residency at Volda University in Norway, City Corp Grant, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Creative Engagement by LMCC, SU-CASA (2024), and LMCC Arts Center. Their first creation, THREAD, won second place at THE AWARD Show! Joyce SoHo, NY. They created the story for TBTB (Theater Breaking Through Barriers) and have toured in Japan tour. Satoshi Haga grew up in Fukushima, Japan, and started his career as a performing artist in the 1980s in New York. His works have been presented by venues including Dia Art Foundation, Japan Society, Jacob’s Pillow, and The Yard in MA. He also performed in the OffBroadway production of Charles Ludlum’s The Artificial Jungle. As a visual artist, he has had solo exhibitions at Soapbox Gallery in Brooklyn and Grove 34 in Long Island City. Rie Fukuzawa received her MA from Ochanomizu University, Tokyo. She came to New York with the Overseas Study Program Scholarship for Artists funded by the Japanese government.
