Mari Meade’s dialogue (excerpt) is a danced series of city-life conversations and interactions. Characters as diverse as a group of expectant mothers waiting for their doctors’ appointments and a trio of arguing male board room members share slices of urban life and the stressors, humilities, hubbub, and private moments of reflection therein.

Mari Meade relocated to NYC in 2009 as a recipient of the Kenan Fellowship at Lincoln Center Education and founded MariMeade Dance Collective (MMDC). MMDC’s performance highlights include the Clark Theatre at Lincoln Center; Danspace/St. Mark’s Church (NYC); Judson Memorial Church (NYC); Battery Dance Festival (NYC); McCallum Theatre (CA),  CHOP SHOP (WA), New Orleans Fringe Festival (LA); Asheville Fringe Festival (NC); Katlehong Arts Center (South Africa); and Lake Studios Berlin. Meade was awarded the 2017 UNCSA Choreographic Institute Development Residency and was selected as Triskelion Arts’ 2018 Artist in Residence. She is a graduate of UNC School of the Arts.
