“I’m really glad that Performance Mix #34: Remotely Yours turned out to be so productive for me. I was able to wrap my head around the ideas that were all circling in my head.”
–Annie Heath

James Barrett (They/Them) is a queer, Brooklyn-based performer, director, and educator. They have shared their work at New Dialect (TN), the Barn at Lee (MA), Green Space, Pageant, Sundays on Broadway, Movement Research at Judson Memorial Church, Performance Mix through New Dance Alliance and Coffey Street Studios. James’ creative practice incorporates theatrical and kinesthetic studies investigating the “empty nature” of things through songs, vignettes and dances.
Angel Glasby is an Afro-Caribbean artist, beaming with southern charm, integrating with the community in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Their work utilizes theater and movement to encapsulate the ephemeral nature of the black queer experience. Embarking on a fantasy-filled journey to return to the mundane. The pressing question at the center of their process is how to get closer to home.
Raven Malouf-Renning is a queer, disabled, nonbinary, neurodivergent, fat dancer, choreographer, and musician based in New York City. They received their BA in 1997 and a Graduate Certificate in 1998 in Theater Arts (Dance) from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and their MA in Performance Studies at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2025. Their primary area of research lives at the crossroads of dance, disability, dysregulation, neurodiversity, thermodynamics, and creative rest.
JUJUNANA is a Brooklyn-based emerging choreographic duo working at the intersection of contemporary dance and performance art. JUJUNANA is the shared alter ego of performers Anna Hershinow and Julia Asher. As a duo, they are interested in favoring sensation over narrative resolution, leaving behind experiences that live in the body: visceral encounters that unsettle, provoke, and spark recognition.
Veronica Santiago Moniello is a Venezuelan dance maker, based in New York. She holds an MFA from UC San Diego (USA) and a BA from Folkwang Universität (Germany), where she engaged with Pina Bausch’s repertoire. Creating across choreography, performance, research, curation, and teaching. She approaches dance as an emanation from a body in flux and in farewell, in correspondence with nature, poetry, exploring gestures of dispossession and what it means to hacer nacer—to allow oneself to drop into being.
Miho Ryu is a New York–based dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist, originally from Tokyo, Japan. She has choreographed and performed more than 100 works, including live performances, dance films, music videos, and interdisciplinary installations presented across Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and the United States. After more than two decades of professional practice in Japan, Miho returned to New York in 2024. While currently undergoing breast cancer treatment, Miho’s artistic practice has entered a period of profound transformation. Her experience has led her to question long-held assumptions about virtuosity, productivity, and the performing body.
