Black Artists Space to Create Resident Artists 2024/25 Season
The BASC Residency offers three artists residencies at Arts On Site. Each artist receives a one-week residency and a stipend of $2,000. The artists have access to complimentary studio space at the New Dance Alliance’s loft in Tribeca throughout the season, and are invited to show work in NDA’s annual Performance Mix Festival. NDA offers this space for resting, dancing, creating, healing, grieving, laughing, and breathing. There is no expectation of production and artists are not obligated to present new work at the end of this residency.

The LiftOff Residency takes place at NDA’s Studio in Tribeca and provides six physical-based performance artists with a minimum of 36 hours of rehearsal space each, an introductory meeting, and two feedback sessions. This residency is for artists looking to join a small cohort of artists to share and give feedback on each other’s work.
The residency offers a $500 stipend. You must be a New York City-based artist in order to apply.
Fall LiftOff artists have access to book the studio from October 7th, 2024 – December 23rd, 2024
Winter Liftoff artists have access to book the studio from January 6th, 2025 – March 31st, 2025
Performance Mix Festival: 38 was truly a “mix” of dance, performance and films featuring artists from around the world. Jovial happenings at the Breakfast Mix, the reception and the ball finale brought audiences and artists together.
Ticket prices for Performance Mix are intentionally low so the series can attract a wide range of audience members. Please consider making a donation towards New Dance Alliance so that we may continue to keep ticket sales accessible to the public. Your donation makes a difference and means so much to all of us at NDA.
“This current global situation is immensely sad and challenging, including the necessary cancellations/ postponements/ restructuring of opportunities, but we are so grateful for how you and the Performance Mix #34: Remotely Yours team has honored all of the artists involved – artistically, financially, and emotionally. In these uncertain, confusing times, we feel taken care of & clearly communicated with. Thank you.”
