Denisa Musilova

Denisa Musilova, a graduate of the Art History and Museum Professions at FIT is a Czech choreographer and performer based in New York City. She has collaborated with Pavel Zuštiak’s Palissimo, Deganit Shemy & Company, Bill Young & Colleen Thomas Dance, LEIMAY, Tami Stronach Dance, Mi?enka ?echová, Ko Murobushi, Netta Yerushalmy and Lindsey Dietz Marchant, among others. Currently she is performing at the National Theater in Prague, in the docudrama “Barbershop” and in Mark DeChiazza’s project with Steven Mackey, “Orpheus Unsung.”

Denisa has choreographed “Quixote” by Amy Beth Kirsten and Mark DeChiazza, commissioned by Peak Performances at MSU and “Savior,” a vocal and instrumental theatre work, which premiered at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in April 2018. She also staged plays for the Horácké Theater Jihlava, Czech Republic. Most recent projects include creating a new work for Susan Marshall’s “Prototypes” and a collaboration on a new choreography for DEKKADANCERS and Tantehorse Company in Prague.

Denisa’s authorial works have been co-produced and presented at the NY Butoh Festival, SOAK Festival NY, Czech Center in New York, 92 Street Y, LATEA Theater, Triskelion Arts, La MaMa and Venuše ve Švehlovce Theater. This May, her new short work “PANOPTIKON” will be presented as a part of Next@Graham – a Martha Graham Studio Series.
